COLLECTING AND FORAGING
Collecting and foraging the materials in the ARK world are kind of significant as well! There will lots of awesome things that you can’t miss!
You can use bare hands to harvest some plants like long grass, bamboo, bushes and more. Don’t hold anything in your hand, excluding you probably have a torch at night, you can still harvest. It doesn’t have an effect on your harvest rates or percentage. Use your hand to pick those plants, it’s the only way to collect fiber, but you can also collect discrepant types of berries (including narcoberries) and seeds if you use your hand to pick, or ride a dino.
You can use either a hatchet or pick to harvest some trees, deep rooted ones, small palms on the sand, drift wood. If you pick, you can obtain more thatch, and Hatcher will help you to get more wood. Riding dinosaurs can help you harvest these things too. Mammoths are the merely adequate wood harvester, though. Thatch is okay.
You can harvest rocks. Tap key E when you sprint over the rocks, you can also come close to big rocks and use a hatchet for stone, pick for Flint. Watch out, the stone is extremely heavy. When you harvest these resources, you probably obtain metal fragments. Just save them, they are needed for later usage, and it is not easy to get them early.
