Basic Info

Alpha Raptor is a larger and more powerful variant of Raptor and it is kind of rare to see one spawning on the island. Besides their strength, they can increase their damage and resistance to any untamed carnivores that are near them. They even bear a risk to any unprepared survivors.

If you succeed in taking down an Alpha Raptor, you will be given a bunch of XP, and all nearby survivors will receive a Rex Bone Helmet. They regularly release recipes, powerful weapons, armors and other different items as well.

Alpha Raptors don’t release common raw meat when being harvested. They release big quantities of Raw Prime Meat instead.

The Alpha Raptor is much alike the common Raptor. They are able to move very quickly and deal a bunch of damage. Due to that, the survivor finds it hard to escape away one. Therefore, you shouldn’t get involved in a battle with one Alpha Raptor unless you’re ready to take it down. Alpha Raptor possesses a massive amount of health, which is just the same as Alpha Rex and Alpha Carno. It is able to demolish non-metal constructions, so you shouldn’t stay in your base to hide or battle against one if your base is unable to bear one. The jump height of Alpha Raptor is really high compared to other creatures.

The size of Alpha Raptor is roughly 1.5x the size of a common Raptor, and it has the similar color to that common one. But its color is darker a bit. Also, there is a shining red aura circling them too, which sets them apart from their common replicas.

This part will show you how to battle against the Alpha Raptor

You should prepare your strategy prior to joining the encounter. When you’re unprepared but the battle is ready, that will be your worst time ever. You have to make a good use of any resources that are approachable so that you can defeat it. You should be brave to compete with a domesticated creature, provided that it has some high-level elements in combat, such as Health and Melee damage. You should learn that the Alpha is able to tear up the prey if it snatches it. If its claws are used on the player, he has to turn it down. Try to use other weapons like pikes, swords and spears to bring it down!

The easiest way for destroying an Alpha Raptor is to utilize a Raft and two people or even more on that raft. You need to lure the Alpha to get into the water, and the other one will control the raft to away from the creature. It can’t move fast in the water, so don’t worry, it will swim very slowly. While it’s going behind you, you have to shoot it in the water. Keep doing so until Alpha Raptor dies!

Also, you can try another tactic to take Alpha Raptor down! Try utilizing a high-level Argentavis, but first, you have to be sure that your tamed dinosaur is already increased its level in stamina, health and damage. You should only use its stamina for assault. Try to fly slowly, and assault on the head of the Alpha. Doing so will restrict the forthcoming damage. However, you need to be aware that you have to settle on a rock that is high enough to retrieve your stamina whilst the creature is trying to assault you.

Another tactic you can follow is to utilize a Quetzal and try to place the Ballista on its platform saddle.

Pteranodon is helpful as well! Using the barrel-roll (key C) will permit you to attack the creature without being attacked in return.

Also, you can utilize a raft and put Plant Species X on it. Then you try to tempt the Alpha away and move along the seashore.

Or, you can use a pack of Allosaurus that are all at high level. These dinosaurs will grind the Alpha and make it bleed. One Allosaurus is not strong enough to get through the confrontation. So, make sure you bring a bunch of them. A pack of three Allosauruses that have high health, stamina, and melee damage can help you defeat Alpha Raptor at level 5 in just a bit. Just be sure that the pack is assaulting repeatedly.

You can utilize ranged weapons and mounts to give out damage from afar. If a physical encounter is pertinent, then you just utilize pikes, swords, and spears. Just don’t escape! Try using anything you have, even the terrain as well. You can rescue your life by lodging the raptor in some trees or rocks. Alpha Raptors are immune to the effects of Bola, so using a Bola is not effective at all.

The Alpha Raptor is very quick and nimble! And you won’t be able to run away one unless you bring a flying mount with you. This dinosaur gives out a bunch of damage, if you’re not prepared for a fierce fight with it, then you shouldn’t get closer to it.

If you’re ready for encountering it, you can utilize a strong mount, or other tribe mates, or powerful guns to demolish the Alpha Raptor.

Other different Alphas are Alpha Rex, Alpha Carno, and Alpha Mosasaurus

Alpha Raptors can be compared with a common Carno in size.

The damage and resistance increase that this creature uses to deal with any carnivores around can be viewed as an arrow that is pointing up, along with the “+” in that arrow.
