The Araneomorphus (or shortly called Araneo) is a kind of aggressive creature that appears in ARK survival evolved game. It’s a giant Spider that is very dangerous and hard to tame if you have no strategies or any defensive plans. Let’s explore more info about Araneo now!

Basic Info

Wild: Araneo has lots of characteristics of other spiders originating from various families and kinds.

Domesticated: Provided that you keep Araneo away from Arachnophobics, the tamed Araneo will become a perfect protector for those who wants to dodge destroying. Thanks to their web-spraying behavior, they can totally hunt quickly or escape away from prey fast. You can’t use them as mounts because of their small size.

Known Information: The creature shoots its webbing just like a bola spider. Similar to a palmcat spider, it also throws out venom. Its bite is very toxic just like other spiders. It can feel the vibrations, which brings it a better vision in the shadows.

The creatures will launch their attacks to anything they catch sight of because of their hostile temperament.

Araneo was discovered and seen in the shadowy caverns in the game. Apparently, it has the same size as a pony, and it doesn’t have any connection to a certain specific spider. However, it’s probably a horrific illusion of plenty of spider kinds. It releases webs to catch food and conquer them by spitting venom.

Wild Stats Level-up

You need to enter the values of an untamed creature to find out the stats that are stressed. The green values of a high-level one will signify that it’s kind of good for breeding. Once you have your tamed creature, you can take back the breeding stages by using the offline tool – ARK Stats Extractor.

You should keep in mind that the creature will be awarded bonuses on some stats basing on the taming effectiveness once the tame is over. This will make it extremely hard to take the levels back on a tamed one. So, this tool should be only applied to the untamed creatures.

No need to use violence to domesticate Araneo! This is a hostile creature, so you’re recommended to use Bug Repellant to prevent it from assaulting you when it catches sight of you. You can’t domesticate it if it attacking another animal or when it’s swallowing a corpse. Make sure you get rid of any disturbances, or you can try tempting it to a private zone.

Don’t try to approach Araneo too close or touch it! If you do so, you just only make it more hostile and it will want to assault you even though you applied the repellant on it. Try to stay away from it enough so that it won’t pay attention to you.

Araneo will become a helpful tool after being domesticated. You can use it to domesticate other creatures on the island because of its powerful assault.

  • Remember that the values are just for optimum instances, they always carry additional supplies
  • Try checking out an external taming calculator.

At the moment, you can find Araneo in several caves only. But you can find them in several zones on the ground in ARK: Fear Evolved event.

You can catch sight of Araneo in some caves, they don’t have high health, and they mostly count on flocking their rival and use their inborn poison to conquer the battle.

You must dodge the web attack of this creature no matter what, or else your ability to move will be obstructed, especially when there is a large horde coming, or it will make you defenseless when you get ambushed by a certain larger thing, like a creature or something. You must try to use a bow and keep moving, make an effort to knock them out using a pike, spear, or even a sword.

You can use most of the weapons to tame Araneo because most of them are kind of effective to this creature. But, you should remember that using ranged weapons won’t help you knock down the creature quickly as it can’t deal large damage fast. Instead, you should use pikes or shotguns.

If Araneo shows up in numbers, this will be the biggest danger you will face! They can spit venom and release web attacks together easily. You can dodge being webbed by utilizing kitting. Stay watchful for your torpor and make sure there is an ally near you so that you can hide yourself if falling.

When you have some few tamed creatures, you can take them with you to sneakily enter the large caves and use the shotguns to knock out Araneo. Having high torpor is the weakness of Araneo.

The dossier alludes to a “much larger Araneomorphus somewhere on the island”, in fact, it brings up a wicked boss in the game called Broodmother Lysrix.

Apparently, the blueprint of Araneo is based on the rebuilding of Megarachne which was considered as an enormous spider.

Araneos are mostly discovered in caves, but sometimes, you can see some groups of them on the ground because of a glitch.

As in patch 221.0, you can ride the Araneo even though they were said to be too small to ride according to the dossier.

The Dossier says that Araneo has a “poisonous bite”, but it’s basically wrong because it could be venomous, not poisonous at all.

The meaning of So Araneomorphus amalgotantibus is “spider-shaped nightmare combination” in Latin.
