The Tusoteuthis is one of the dinosaurs in ARK Survival Evolved. It is known as a hostile aquatic predator that can kill the other creatures and suck their blood. Although it is not officially released in the game yet, you can still check out several basic information of it.

Basic Info

Dossier

Wild: Tusoteuthis Vampyrus is a hostile and fierce aquatic predator that is roughly 30 feet long. It is considered as a deadly terror in the water. After catching the prey, Tusoteuthis will begin to smash that enemy down and utilize the talons on tentacles for siphoning and depleting the blood of that victim.

Domesticated: The ink of Tusoteuthis becomes one of the advantageous resources that most of the tribes are trying to tame for. Different from the usual ink, the ink of this creature is extremely oily. The players can refine its ink into fuels like gasoline. The combat skills of Tusoteuthis is very different from the other creatures, however, it can become a perfect aquatic creature that is worth taming even though it can’t swim at a faster speed.

Known Information: Tusoteuthis is known as an intimidating enemy because of some reasons. First of all, it will snatch up the victim and knock him out, make him senseless. Therefore, death is not the initial issue here. Second of all, this creature doesn’t have to worry about running out of its vampiric blood. Once it’s depleted, it will be regenerated throughout the fight. And last but not least, if somehow it loses the battle, there will be a cloud of ink that is sprayed and sprinkled surrounding it into the water, which will make the assaulter blind, and it will take advantage of that to make a great escape.

Appearance

Tusoteuthis is seen as a giant kin of the vampire squid. It shares some traits with giant squids, however, it’s way too intimidating compared to its cowardly relative. There are several strong tentacles along with hooked suckers on Tusoteuthis, which are able to suck the blood and even prevent a giant creature, like Megalodon from running away. It has a beak inside the middle of the writhing mass, which can be used to tear off flesh, shell, and any bones into many pieces effortlessly. In addition, this creature has a skill to sprinkle and scatter an oily ink if it’s under attack and about to lose the fight.

Color Scheme and Regions

Since Tusoteuthis is not released and available in the game yet, there is no information about its color scheme and regions for now.

Notes/Trivia

The dossier of Tusoteuthis was officially launched on 08/10/15

Tusoteuthis was known as a Cretaceous kin of the current Vampire Squid which can be an inspiration for the tendencies of depleting blood exactly illustrated in the dossier.

Tusoteuthis was the domestic to the Western Interior Seaway which is known as an ocean dividing North America into two parts throughout the Late Cretaceous. Although it was compared to the current Giant Squid in the size, it was still far from the peak of the regional food chain.
