Check out another creature in ARK Survival Evolved called Baryonyx (bare-ee-ON-iks). Although this dinosaur is not available and released in the game yet, you still can explore some basic information about it.

Basic Info

Wild: Baryonyx aquafulgur is not stronger than other predators in the water, but still, it’s a fast runner and swimmer that is able to become a risk to most of the creatures on this island.

Domesticated: After being tamed, Baryonyx will learn how to get rid of the water dwellers Due to the speed and strength of this creature, it can be a perfect choice for those who needs to travel between water and ground.

Known Information: And yet despite being a fast, dangerous dinosaur, Baryonyx almost exclusively eats fish and other water-dwellers. The highly specific metabolism of Baryonyx seems to allow it to heal wounds almost preternaturally fast after feeding on nutritious fish meat. Perhaps this is why Baryonyx rarely attacks land animals?

Baryonyx is a fish-eater due to its jaws which are just like a crocodile, along with a bunch of serrated teeth.

The creature dwells near by the bodies of water because fish are the main source of food of it. It’s good at swimming, and it can go into the water to hunt more prey. It can use the long claws to get the prey on the ground too.

Baryonyx is kind of similar to common middle-sized carnivorous creatures, excluding for the head of it that is the same as crocodile, as well as the long arms with big claws.

Color Scheme and Regions

No specific information about this creature is available yet since it’s still unreleased.

Remember that the information above is not sure to be correct since it’s just a speculation based on some details and info of the same creatures.

There is no taming data of this creature yet because it was just released.

The info here could be based on anecdotal proof, and nothing sure that they are completely right.

You can try exploring an external taming calculator, but you should remember that the numbers are not official.

The creature prefers fish meat to normal meat.

The info about how to battle against Baryonyx will be updated and released soon.

The Dino Dossier was introduced on 08/14/2015

According to the dossier, Baryonyx has the skill to regain its health more quickly after eating fish. This could mean that its health is regained faster once absorbing the fist meat achieved from Coel, Megapiranha, Megalodon and Mantas

Baryonyx shares the similar family to Spinosaurus, which is Spinosaurids

Some fossils of this creatures have been discovered, and there were some remnants of other creatures on them, which implies that Baryonyx could be able to attack bigger animals on land even though the dossier said it infrequently assaults land creatures.

The meaning of its special name is “Water Lighting”.
