The Compy is a kind of creature in ARK . This is a carnivorous creature that can be domesticated very easily. Also, it is very useful and can become a nice companion of the tribes. You should get further information about this creature like the dossier, taming, color and scheme, appearance and much more. Check it out!

Basic Info

Wild: Compy is known as one of the tiny predators living on this island. It can become a risk, a pest or even a pet to the survivors. The creature is not hostile much and won’t be active if it’s alone. But if it stays with other members in bigger packs, it can become very hostile! Once developing to a certain size, the way of thinking of the Compy pack will completely fortify them to assault more.

Domesticated: You can domesticate Compy very easily without using any violent methods. Several tribes decided to keep Compy beside them as an adorable friend. But they can obtain powerful assault and speed when they approach other Compsognathus because the hostility of the pack seizes the action.

Known Information: Compsognathus is not scared of survivors for a reason. This creature is apparently inquisitive about humans.

Not surprisingly, their unique behavior is the curiosity towards a human. Compy will be captivated to one just only catching sight of it. This creature won’t become a risk if it’s lonely, and probably it just wants to watch over the humans. But it can become a threat if it comes with a bigger group, and all of them will assault anything, even including humans. If they get ravenous, they seemingly will absorb the mates that were fallen after a combat. After being domesticated, this creature stays faithful and very docile to its owner. If you want to tame one, make sure that you bring Prime Meat or Prime Fish because this creature is kind of more intelligence than other creatures.

Compy is a very small theropod and can be viewed as the smallest one of any other kinds on the island. There is a thin and nice build on it, along with a small head on a neck that is just like a snake. Its head has some feathers, probably to make an impression on the mates. They can move fast, act in a smart way and they are very adaptable to the wetter areas where there are plenty of nice preys, like tiny reptiles, insects or mammals. These creatures are so sociable and you can often catch sight of them in many groups. When they see any humans, they will show their curiosity towards them. But if the pack develops to a certain size, their curiosity will instantly become very aggressive, and they can become a risk.

Attack Value

Wild Stats Level-up

Input any values of an untamed creature so that you can find out the emphasized stats. Normally, the green values on a high-level dinosaur are viewed as great for breeding. If you’re done taming one, you can take back the breeding-stats of your tamed creature by utilizing the tool called ARK Stats Extractor.

Remember that the creature will receive some bonuses on several stats after being tamed, and it’s totally up to the taming effectiveness. This will cause it to very tough to take back the levels on a domesticated creature. Therefore, you should only utilize this tool for untamed ones.

Pack Boost

The Pack Boost is known as the total number of the creatures in the pack.

If a pack consists of two Compys, it will get a +1 Bonus, and it is able to reach up to +8 in a pack that has at least 9 Compys.

The untamed Compys will get closer to the players and go behind them or domesticated animals. Most of these them will stay neutral. But, they can totally draw the attention of other Compys. If there are so many Compys that are attracted in one location, they will become very hostile.

The Compy can be totally picked up and carried by an Argentavis or a Pteranodon. These creatures can place the Compy in a taming pin. You should use one of them as you need to use Raw Prime Meat for domesticating the Compy. They don’t have high torpor, so probably time will run out before you grabbing the Raw prime meat once making it unconscious. If you have Narcotic and raw prime meat on your hands, you should lure it into the taming bin and start knocking it out. Then, go get the raw prime meat and narcotic on Compy. Feel ease to enjoy its torpor.

Remember that these values are just for optimum instances, they always carry additional supplies.

Don’t forget to check out the external taming calculator.

It can be easy or difficult to domesticate a Compy. You just don’t have to take many steps to knock it out, but you should be aware that the Compy can wake up very quickly because it doesn’t have high torpor, and you should bring some Raw Prime Meat before taming. If you defeat a bunch of Compys at the same time, you should stay watchful for them because they can wake up fast, and if that happens, you will be attacked by them. Try to search for one Compy, or use a tiny Carnivore to cut the bigger packs. You’re recommended to put on a Flak armor, then use around 1-3 Tranquilizer Darts to defeat them if they are assaulting you, because they can’t do much damage to Flak armor.

To other creatures, it will consume the rest food in its inventory when it gets ravenous. You shouldn’t place more Prime Meat in them, the Compys will eat it all if they stay awake.

The Compys will assault the humans when they are in large groups, which brings them a pack boost. You should prepare some backup plans if you are trying to annihilate them at once and dodge being surrounded. If the Compy is alone, it will not assault you. But if there are other Compys popping up, you must stay watchful for them at all costs.

The Compys are not much stronger than you thought, so you just utilize an easy tool, like a primitive stone to cope with them. Gather them around in front of you, then start using melee weapons such as pikes or spears. If you’re being chased by them, just don’t worry much because they will stack onto one another and can be caught each other. In that case, you will be able to cope with one or two of them ahead of you. Try to run forwards to avoid being swarmed. If you’re on a Carno or Rex, the big mount will support while biting, or just flee away. A mount with a low HP can be easily surrounded or killed by Compys.

You can utilize any melee weapon to knock out the Compys. However, you should use a longer tool like a pike for instance because it will stop the Compys from getting close to you.

The Compy is a deadly creature to the survivors who are so unaware and don’t stay watchful much for the surroundings, especially when they are so close to the bigger packs of Compy. Usually, one Compy and call other Compies into one location. So, you should destroy one Compy or defeat it fast before it calls for others.

If a large group of Compys is attacking you, you should run away from them for around 200 meters, after that, you can turn around, and you will see them at the back of you. Then, instantly destroy one or two in the front. Knockback can totally have an effect on these creatures.

It was first launched on Day Five of the Jurassic ARK Event by Jat

The dossier was launched on 07/06/15

Compsognathus was viewed as the popular smallest Dinosaurs for many years in real life. But, the Microraptor was discovered to be much smaller than the Compy.

The player can pick up the Compy and put it on their shoulder.

As in v224.1, when being bred, the fertilized egg was found at the same location where you domesticated the female one. This was announced to be repaired in v224.2. Other players are still pointing this out on some forums of the game, indicating that the egg still pops up in some random locations.

The Compys will lay some eggs, but they don’t poop according to v224.2.
