The Diplocaulus (dip-low-cawl-us) is also known as Newt which is an amphibian in ARK . It is a skittish creature and willingly runs away from you if you catch sight of it. Now, you can explore its habitats, characteristics, appearance, behavior and much more.
Wild: Diplocaulus mostly resides in the swamps of the island. It is known as a tiny amphibian which only consumes small fish. It lives off the small non-insect creatures, but other bigger carnivores will hunt Diplocaulus and use them as their snacks.
Domesticated: A domesticated Diplocaulus will have several uses, but it’s mostly utilized for oxygen bag. This creature has the bladders on his head where it can keep some air for the divers who nearly get submerged. They can breathe deeper from the bladders, which gives them a longer time when they are exploring the views under the water without utilizing the outside gear.
Known Information: Diplocaulus usually runs away from any creatures that it see since there are so many of them trying to prey on it. It can totally flee and run into any environment with the assistance of its amphibious nature.
Because it’s viewed as a usual prey thing, Diplocaulus will flee when it’s first seen by any creatures around.
Diplocaulus can be similar to a big newt because it has a soft body, greasy skin, and a tail just like a paddle to make it go through swamp water. But you can’t mistake it for any creatures due to its head. The shape of his head is just the same as a boomerang. The head of this creature can be used for two purposes, one is helping it increase the swimming speed for running away from the predator, and one is keeping some air in the bladders.

Wild Stats Level-up
You can input the values of an untamed creature to check out the stressed stats. A high-level creature will be nice for breeding if it has green values. You can try to take back the breeding stats on a domesticated creature by using a tool called ARK Stats Extractor.
You should remember that the tamed creature will receive some stats which count on the success of taming. This will cause it to be very hard to take back the levels on a domesticated creature. So, just use this tool for untamed ones.
Remember that the values are just for optimum instances, they always carry additional supplies.
Don’t forget to check out an external taming calculator.
